Baltic Branch of NCCA is proud to announce 7th edition of Sound Around, three-day sound art festival featuring concerts, film screenings, artist talks, lectures and workshop. This year, headliners of the festival will come from Switzerland, France, Netherlands, Poland, Lithuania and Russia.
For the first time, the opening will take place in Zarya cinema theatre: retrospective of films by Dutch director Joost Rekveld, working on the intersection of sound, optical experiments and expanded cinema, will be followed by performance of Kainingrad jazz band ASP.
The biggest festival of experimental music in Kaliningrad takes place every year since 2011. During this time the festival was visited by the audience of 2500, and more than 70 artists, including such musicians and sound artists as Carl Michael von Hausswolf, JG Thirlwell, Jana Winderen, Vladimir Tarasov, Mats Lindström, Andy Guhl, Arturas Bumšteinas, Pascal Pellan, Jakob Kirkegaard, Dmitry VTOL Morozov, Dave Phillips, Vladimir Rannev and many others.
